Vision of 21st Century Sustainable Business Model

One of the core challenges of 21st century business leaders is to build an innovative and profitable business model while retaining sustainability as its driving strategy. Not many have pursued the vision and very few have succeeded.

Tesla, Inc. has been one such company which stood out in the crowd. Tesla is an American electric vehicle, energy storage and solar panel manufacturing company which considers sustainability as its key business strategy. In a very short span of time, the company is now eying to compete with the global market giants such as General Motors, Volkswagen, Toyota and BMW.

At the turn of this century, when the top automaker companies were busy to increase energy efficiency, reduce environmental footprints and comply with pollution control regulations, Tesla, not happy with the “minimalistic” approach, decided to move beyond and focus on creating higher value for its customers, stakeholders and the global society as a whole.

With a mission “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”, Tesla’s innovative and competitive business strategy consists of two major approaches namely, transitioning to a carbon neutral economy and developing a sustainable transportation industry based on zero emissions. This shows the company’s perception of societal need and demand as well as its visionary sustainable business model conceived nearly two decades ago.

Let me say this: Self-deception is rooted so deep into our consciousness that we deny seeing it even though we see it everyday everywhere. Believe me, the so called “economic growth” alone is not going to sustain humanity in this planet for too long. Think Sustainability in Everything You Do, NOW!

“What she had to say took less than 5 minutes, yet her words were so incredibly powerful. I implore you, if you haven’t already, please listen to what someone from the next generation has to say regarding the horrifying legacy we are leaving them.”

I’m sure many of you know about the youth climate strike that took place in over 163 countries around the world last Friday. Inspired by 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, the Global Climate Strikes may turn out to be the largest mass protest for action on climate change in history. Greta was also a speaker at the first Climate Action Summit at the United Nations this morning. What she had to say took less than 5 minutes, yet her words were so incredibly powerful. I implore you, if you haven’t already, please listen to what someone from the next generation has to say regarding the horrifying legacy we are leaving them.

Wind Turbines and Birds

Misinformation can be highly dangerous. In today’s world and age, given the contagious nature of “social media”, it can spread like wildfire and become an epidemic in no time. If you are a nature lover who cares for environment and have been told that wind turbines kill birds, you must read this.

“So if you are hearing that wind farms are bad for birds, you’re not hearing it from the best-informed bird conservationists. You’re more likely hearing it from poorly-informed but well-intentioned amateur wildlife lovers, or even more likely, from fossil fuel interests intent on hampering the renewable energy sector.”
