In relation to load carrying limitations for the Nepalese workers and employees, OHS legal provisions provided by the Labor Act 1992 and the Labor Rules 1993 are given below in tabular form.

As prescribed by the above, the enterprises in Nepal are legally bound to make the following manual handling arrangements for the health and safety of their employees or workers.

    I was struck by the provision for load limit, 45 kg for females and 55 kg for males. At elevation in Nepal that even in my youth, my body might want to negotiate a separate holiday!
